Rodney Allen Murrain, 67, of North Platte passed away February 20, 2020 at Great Plains Health.

Rodney was born on January 31,1953 in McCook, Nebraska to Roy Jack and Irene (Cooper) Murrain. He graduated from Curtis Medicine High School in 1972. Moving to Brighton, CO Rod worked for the City of Brighton. He moved back to Nebraska later where he worked at the Tomahawk Truck Stop. Rod entered the United States Army serving our country from 1977-1979. He married Jeanette Buhrman in 1988. To this union two children were born, Samantha and Cody.

Rod lived in several places and worked a variety of different jobs which included Chappell, NE working for Luprino Cheese, North Platte at Weathercraft, Greeley, CO in construction.

In 1997 he married Rhonda Grandel. She preceded in him in death in 2006.

Rod moved back to North Platte where he retired, enjoying restoring motorcycles. He was very mechanical, learning his mechanical ability in the military. He was very much a gearhead, who enjoyed playing pool, camping, fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and was an avid Broncos fan.

Survivors include his children, Samantha (Jon "J.T.") Beck and Cody Murrain all of North Platte; stepson, Chris Grandel of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Emily, Gracie, Ryker, Alyssa, Jaicen, and Hanna; sister, Rogena Murrain Loving of Boardman, OR; and nieces, Lauri Ryun, Lisa Crain, and Stephanie Case.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1990; wife, Rhonda in 2006; brother, Ted in 2004; mother in 2009, and a nephew, Terrance Lee Ryun in 1970.

Cremation was chosen. There will be no service. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
