Obituary

Rodolfo "Rudy" Macias Tapia age 61 of North Platte passed away at his home on Friday October 16, 2015.
Rudy was born on August 22, 1954 in Cheran Michoacan, Mexico. He spent his early years in Mexico and came to the United States in his late teens. He married Gloria Garcia and to this union two children were born, Teresa and Andrew. The couple lived for two years in Illinois before moving to Mexico. Rudy was on his way from California to St. Louis, he stopped in North Platte and he began working first at the John A. Gentleman Power Plant and then the Union Pacific Railroad. In 1981 he married Maria Veronica Casillas and to this union three children were born, Rudy Jr., Fernando and Vanessa. He later met Ronda Yonkers, and to this union two children were born, Stephen and Victoria. Rudy retired from the railroad in 2004 due to his health. He loved dogs and listening to music while he walked in the park. His children were the center of his life and he would do anything to help them out. He was very gentle and loving with other people and a father figure to many. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and will be remembered fondly by them.
Survivors include 8 children, Teresa (Luis) Gutierrez of Alto Pass, Illinois, Andrew Tapia of St. Louis, MO, Rudy Jr. (Amber) Tapia of North Platte, Fernando Tapia of Columbus, NE, Vanessa (Blake) Suhr of North Platte, Stephen (Sarah) Montoya of North Platte, Victoria (Jose) Tapia of North Platte, and Leo Casillas of Columbus, NE; 20 grandchildren, Leslie, Jorge Jr., Brianna, Brandon, Aaliyah, Anastasiaa, Adrianna, Gabriel, Valencia, Alecea, Alejandro, Angelo, Fabian, Gerbersito, Genesis, Aubriella, Kianna, Cruize, Rowan, Quinton; 4 siblings, Raul, Sr. Carmen, Margarita, and Brigida; and numerous other family member and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Lorenzo, and two best friends, Poncho and Borracho. Online condolences can be made at www.adamsswanson.com.
Christian Wake Services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday October 20, 2015 at St. Patricks Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday October 21, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. C.P. Varghese as celebrant. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
