Ronald Henry
James Jr.
September 22, 1964 – April 20, 2026
Ronald Henry James Jr. passed away surrounded by the love of family and the many memories he created throughout his life. He was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by his beloved wife, Stacy Johnson James; his son, Anthony James; his parents, Ronald James and Delores Hart; and so many other cherished loved ones who were surely waiting to embrace him again.
Ron was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and grew up and finished school in Roselle, New Jersey, where his love for sports began early in life. Baseball was one of his greatest passions growing up, and in the last 15 years he found a special love for golf, where many knew him affectionately as “Rolling Ron.” Whether on the golf course, watching football, or cheering on his favorite teams, sports were one of the many ways he connected with the people he loved.
Above all else, Ron was a family man. His children were his pride and joy, and he loved fiercely, loyally, and unconditionally. He was the kind of man who never asked many questions when someone needed help, he simply showed up. He was always there with support, encouragement, a joke, a prank, or a hug to make someone smile and feel loved.
Ron had a way of checking in at just the right moment, often on the days people needed it most. He loved sharing sports, yummy foods, laughter, and time together with family and friends. Football season always brought playful competition, especially when debating who would finish with the better record, the Chargers or the Cowboys.
Those who knew Ron will remember his caring heart, loyal spirit, sense of humor, and the way he made people feel seen and supported.
Ron leaves behind his children, Vance Johnson, Keli James and spouse Derek Malcom, Allen James, and Markus James, along with his cherished granddaughter, Madisen Ahnaleigh James Malcom, his only grandchild and one of the greatest joys of his life. He also leaves behind extended family and many dear friends who were deeply impacted by his kindness, strength, humor, and the unwavering way he showed up for the people he loved.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date and announced when arrangements are finalized. His family looks forward to gathering together to honor the love, laughter, and memories he shared with so many.
