Ronald D. Murphy Sr., 68, of North Platte, passed away March 18, 2021 at his home. He was born June 29, 1952 to Dale and Rosella (Love) Murphy Sr. in Thedford.
Ron went to school in North Platte, Thedford, Mullen and Seneca. He worked for Bob Stone Sanitation for 15 years. He went to work for the City of North Platte at the transfer station and worked there for 30+ years. Ron married Bonnie Loving on November 5, 1969 in Ogden, Utah.
Ron loved to fish, camp and be outdoors. He enjoyed eating at Arby's and loved hanging out with his dogs. Ron was a devoted husband, visiting Bonnie's grave twice a week since she passed.
Survivors include three children, Bonnie (Ken) Grogan of Moorefield, Rose (Mike Dameron) Schultz of North Platte, Ron Jr. (Julie) Murphy of North Platte; grandchildren, Charley Hazen, Adina Puryear, Kabrina Grogan, Joey Schultz, Kelly Wilson, Peanut Schultz, Cassie Murphy, Alex Murphy; great grandchildren, Rylan, Teagan, Camden, Jesse, Kami, Lonny, Chance, Issac, Loredo, Hudson, Roper, Jayden, Ashlyn, Paisley, Mazikeen, Euphoria, Joey Jr.; brother, Mitch (Jan) Murphy of North Platte; sister, Nina (Larry) Hardy of Seneca; numerous other family members and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; daughter, Thelma Murphy; granddaughter, Caitlin Murphy; brother, Dale Murphy; sister, Freda Dennis.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Riverview Cemetery near Sutherland with the Reverend Ryan Alexander officiating. Those wishing to sign the book may do so 9:00-5:00, Monday, March 22, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. The service will be livestreamed on the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend.
