Rosalie Christen Barker, 80, of North Platte went home on Good Friday, April 7, 2023. After a battle with Alzheimer's, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg where she won the hearts of the staff and received excellent care.

Rose was born on October 22, 1942 to Edward and Virginia (Gates) Christen at her grandmother's farm house in Custer County. She married Gary Barker on July 1, 1961 in Denver, Colorado. They made their home in Stapleton, Nebraska for 29 years before moving to North Platte. While in Stapleton she worked at Frey's General Store with her special friend Shawna. In North Platte she assisted in helping old friends and family through Social Services and did private cleaning for several families. She loved playing golf at Stapleton with the Girls. But she will be remembered the most by her family for her giving of herself. She never missed a ball game, school concert or any event her grandchildren or great-grandchildren were in. Each one was very special to her.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Virginia Christen, her step-father, Walter (Bud) Steburg; aunt, Martha Roberts.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; daughter, Shannon Barker and son Brent (Angie) Barker; grandchildren, Brittany (Jared) Thomsen and Ty and Brynlee and Brayden (Josie Keck) Barker and Paisley; sister's and brother's, Judy (Noel) Parker, Bill, Ozzy, Dan, Dave and Shawn; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Book signing will be on Monday, May 15, 2023 from noon – 7:00 P.M., with family being present from 5-7, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
