Rose E.
Nida
Dec 7, 1943 — Jul 7, 2026
Rose E. Nida, age 82, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away July 7, 2026.
Rose was born December 7, 1943, to Milford Freeman and Teresa Isabel (Clark) Nida in their sod house north of Stapleton. Rose grew up in North Platte, attending North Platte High School and graduating in 1962. After graduating, she went on to attend the School of Commerce for six months while working office jobs. Then, in 1965, Rose moved to Ogallala with her family and got a job as a Convenience Store Manager at Union 76. After her mom’s passing, Rose moved back to North Platte in 1994. There she worked at Walmart, building lifelong relationships before her retirement in 2011. She maintained her friendship with her old coworkers even after retirement, making sure to attend a monthly luncheon with them.
Rose will be remembered for her independence, always maintaining her body and mind so she could keep taking care of herself. She filled her free time with jigsaw puzzles, bejeweled on her computer, and watching Fox News. She was a lover of chocolate, never meeting one she didn’t like. The only thing she loved more than chocolate was sharing chocolate with her loved ones, especially her nephews whom she lived with and developed a special bond.
Those left to cherish Rose’s memory are her sisters Arvada Czaplewski of Omaha, NE, and Doris (Paul) Cooper of North Platte; nephews Matthew (Alicia) Cooper of Cleveland, TN, David Cooper of North Platte, Russ (Peggy) Czaplewski of Shawnee, KS, Rick Czaplewski of Omaha, and Rob (Amy) Czaplewski of Grand Island, NE; nieces Vikki (Doug) Henry and Valerie (Ryan) McMahon of Omaha; great-nieces Sophia and Sylvia Cooper of Cleveland, TN; and many more family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Milford and Teresa; sisters Arlene and Mary Beth Nida; and grandparents David and Ida Clark and Freeman and Gladys Nida.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the family for future designation. Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared at adamsswanson.com.
