Sandra Sue Will, age 80, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at the UNMC in Omaha.
Sandra was born to Robert and Eleanor (Pfeifer) Simmons in Akron, Ohio on February 10, 1946. She was raised in the nearby town of Cuyahoga Falls, graduating from high school there. Shortly after, Sandra married John Will, and to their union was born their beloved children John, Vicki, and Rob. Sandra embraced her role as a mother, becoming a stay-at-home mom to care for her children until they graduated.
With more time on her hands than she knew what to do with, Sandra attended Akron Cosmetology School and bought Salon Janéa shortly after her graduation in 1989. There she built up her clientele, making many new friends and acquaintances until she sold her business in 1996 to move closer to her grandbabies. She moved to Kearney, NE, to help take care of and baby sit her daughter’s kids. Later, once they were older, Sandra moved to North Platte to enjoy the rest of her retirement.
Sandra will be remembered for her lively and nurturing spirit. She loved spending time with her cats on the quiet days, and listening and dancing to music on her rowdier days. She loved new experiences and often took her grandkids along for the ride. Though she may have bit of more than she could chew at some impromptu stops, she leaves behind memories and stories with all those she loved.
Those left to cherish Sandra’s memory are her children John Will, Vicki (Ron) Jaixen, and Rob (Kim) Will; grandchildren Andy, Sam (Savanna), Lindsey (John), and Hunter Will; great-grandson Grayson Olson; 3 sisters Jean, Jodie, and Tammie; 1 brother Bob; and many other friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Eleanor, brother Ron Simmons, and Grandma Simmons.
A family led memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in North Platte on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
