Scott M
Noonan
Aug 22, 1961 — Sep 17, 2026
Scott M. Noonan, 65, of North Platte passed away September 17, 2026 at home. He was born August 22, 1961 to Thomas and Janet (Schiller) Noonan in Grand Island.
Scott graduated from North Loup-Scotia High School with the class of 1979 and then attended college at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He went back to the family farm for a while and worked construction jobs. Scott hired on the Union Pacific Railroad in 2000 and worked as a conductor until his retirement.
On April 20, 2013, Scott married Annie Anderson at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. The couple lived in North Platte.
Scott enjoyed carving and finishing axe handles from Annie’s tree trunk logs that were purposed for fire wood. He was very mechanical and preferred to fix things himself. Scott knew no strangers and was who he needed to be for the person he was with. He always had a clever comeback or funny story. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was very protective of them. Most of all, Scott was a faithful, attentive and loving husband.
Survivors include his wife Annie Noonan of North Platte; her daughter, Debbie Echo of Washington; siblings, Mark (Denise) Noonan of Omaha, Ann Lynch of Wahoo, Joe Noonan of Lincoln; 9 nieces and nephews; numerous other family members and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Janet; sisters, Judith Noonan and Suzanne Noonan; brother, John Noonan; brother-in-law, Ed Lynch; nephew, Will Noonan.
Memorials are suggested to the family and they will distribute to Scott’s favorite charities.
