Obituary

Shane Tucker Weller, 24, of North Platte, NE passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at his home, after a lengthy battle with Type I Diabetes.

Born on September 24, 1996 in Julesburg, CO, he was the son of E. Shane Craighead and Brenda (Russell) Smith. On January 26, 2009 at age 7 he was welcomed into the home of his adopted parents, Dan and Becky Weller.

Shane worked at various fast-food restaurants in North Platte. He enjoyed mechanics and was a hard worker. He was getting ready to volunteer at Great Plains Hospital at the time of his passing. Shane was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and loved the Lord. He received Jesus as Savior at Harvest Baptist Church in Ft. Dodge, IA.

Surviving in addition to his parents and adopted parents are siblings, Colton Weller, Katina Wendel, Abigail (Kwan) Sadler, Courtney Weller, Katelyn Weller, Ben Weller, Jessica Weller, Sandra Weller and Alex Weller; maternal grandmother, Eldora Russell; and paternal grandfather, Earl Craighead; nephews, Kaden and Kruz Sadler; niece, Maggie Weller.

He was predeceased in death by his special friend, Gerry Budd.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 in Sand Valley Cemetery near Callaway. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Riverside Baptist Church with Pastor Dwane Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday following the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home to help the family with final expenses.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
