Obituary

Sherry Rae McNew, 62, of North Platte passed away June 25, 2019 at Linden Court.

Sherry was born on September 8, 1956 in Michigan City, Indiana to John and Vera (Menke) McNew.

She attended school in North Platte, graduating from North Platte High School in 1975. Sherry worked at Grandpa's Pancake House as a waitress. Due to illness, she needed full time care, and lived in nursing homes in Lincoln, Crete, and North Platte. The family is very appreciative of the loving care she received, especially at Linden court.

Survivors include her brothers, Garry McNew of Omaha, Larry McNew of Lincoln, and Terry (Nancy) McNew of North Platte; nieces and nephews, Jesse (Chelsea) McNew, Heather Wright, Dustin McNew, John (Erin) McNew, Sara (Kyle) Baker, Nick (Katie) McNew, and Melissa (Shane) Blackburn; numerous aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vera McNew; great niece, Leyha Bartels; sister-in-law, Janeece McNew; and grandmother, Edna McNew.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Chaplain Gary Smith officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the family cemetery in Indiana. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00 a.m. until service time Monday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
