Terry Lee Thompson, 75, of North Platte passed away April 29, 2023 at his home in North Platte. He was born December 13, 1947 in Anselmo, Nebraska to George A. and Shirley I. (Clark) Thompson.

Terry graduated high school in 1966. He entered the U.S. Army in 1967. In September of 1967 he married Deborah Richardson in Louisiana. To this union two children were born, Jeanne and Jody. He served in Vietnam, receiving the Bronze Star. After his discharge he returned to North Platte. Terry worked for the State of Nebraska at the scales. Then he went to work for Consolidated Freightways for almost 30 years until 2003. In May 1991 he married Brenda Fisher in Lincoln, Nebraska. To this union three children were born, Jake, Heath and Chase. He worked at Schwann's, Swift, JB Hunt, and retired from Estes Trucking in Phoenix, Arizona. Terry was married to Alicia Ochoa Moreno on November 13, 2008, in Santa Ana, California. He was a collector of many things and loved playing cards with family and friends. Terry was faithful in reading his bible and attended the Berean Church. Family was always the center of Terry's conversation and he loved his family dearly.

Survivors include his five children, Jeanne (David) Kaufman, Bedford, Texas, Jody (John) Schlachter, Colleyville, Texas, Jake (Trasa) Thompson, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Heath Thompson, Moscow, Idaho, Chase Thompson, Moscow, Idaho; 2 grandchildren, Clark Schlachter and Maggie Schlachter, Colleyville, Texas; siblings, Douglas (Beth) Thompson, Omaha, Nebraska, Gerald "Wayne" (Mary) Thompson, Firestone, Colorado, Dennis (Shawna) Thompson, North Platte, Nebraska; along with numerous other family members and friends.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, George and Shirley Thompson, brother Roy Alan Thompson and niece Brenda.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, May 8, 2023 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska with Rev. John Stone officiating. With full military honors. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
