Obituary

Thomas Edward Gamble, a beloved member of the North Platte community, passed away on April 5, 2026, in his hometown of North Platte, Nebraska. Born on May 15, 1954, Thomas lived a life marked by dedication to family, faith, and his craft.

A graduate of North Platte High School in 1972, Thomas furthered his education by attending Bible College in Colorado for a year. Following his time in college, he returned to the family ranch, embracing his roots and the values instilled in him from an early age. His career path was diverse and distinguished; he spent several years teaching at the North Platte Christian School where he influenced many young minds. After exploring various jobs, he found his calling in pest control — a field in which he made a significant mark. Thomas worked with Presto X until 2016 before bravely embarking on his own entrepreneurial venture, establishing ECCA Pest Control. Affectionately known as the "Bug Guy," Thomas’ expertise and friendly demeanor left an indelible impression on his customers and community.

On November 22, 1980, Thomas married Tanda Andrew at the Faith Bible Church in North Platte, solidifying a partnership grounded in love and mutual respect. He cherished spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, showing sincere interest in their activities and accomplishments. Thomas was a man of great heart and vision, always seeing the good in people and approaching life with kindness and concern, particularly for his customers and friends. He found joy and therapy in gardening, which was both a passion and a peaceful retreat.

Tom had an unwavering love for his Lord Jesus Christ. He was passionate about sharing his faith with whoever he met. He was very active in his church where he was still serving as Sunday School Superintendent a position that he held for many years, He loved interacting with the kids and reading them bible stories whenever he had the chance. Tom served on various church boards. You could count on him to have the coffee ready and he could be found in the kitchen making sure everything was running smoothly when there was a dinner being served.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Tanda Gamble of North Platte; his children, Annalisa (Mark) Blankman of Omaha, Andrew (Megan) Gamble of Maxwell, and Nathan Gamble of Beebe, Arkansas; as well as eight grandchildren: Christian Blankman, Hannah Blankman, Elias Gamble, Caleb Gamble, Aiden Gamble, Noah Gamble, Grayson Gamble, and Kaislee Gamble. He is also survived by three sisters: Jolene Gelsthorpe of South Carolina, Jeanne (Dean) Barney of North Carolina, and Kathy Harvey of North Platte. Thomas leaves behind numerous other family members and many friends who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Alary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Maxwell Baptist Church and ALS in the Heartland. Online condolences and livestream of the service can be found at www.adamsswanson.com.
