IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Troy Duane
Bayne
September 8, 1963 – May 9, 2025
On May 9, 2025, Troy D. Bayne unexpectedly passed away at Kearney Regional Medical Center, at the age of 61. He was born the oldest of three boys to Maurice and Beverly (Stone) Bayne on September 8, 1963, in North Platte, NE.
Troy was raised in Hershey, where he still resided at the time of his passing and graduated from Hershey High School in 1981. Troy lived his life on his terms, always keeping his parents on their toes and leaving everyone guessing what his next move would be. He spent some time bull riding, one of his proudest moments being when he rode bulls with Justin McBride. Troy then transitioned to being a motorcycle enthusiast before finding his ultimate passion: racing cars. He eventually enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, in hopes of finding a calmer lifestyle.
In 1989, Troy married Kerry Weichel. From this relationship, a daughter, Jessica was born. After the couple divorced, Troy had a daughter, Alise. Troy then married Jennifer Nelsen in 1998 and again, a daughter, Brandi, was born. In 2011, Troy met his soulmate and the one whom he had searched for, Jennifer Dye. Upon their union, he welcomed a fourth daughter, Allison, into his life. Troy was raised with brothers but was now surrounded by girls.
Troy spent several years working as a mechanic for different businesses including Chevrolet, TO Haas, and the Union Pacific Railroad. Most of his career was spent as a truck driver, beginning in the early 90's and most recently for Harms Oil.
Racing and Husker anything could almost sum up Troy's interests. After having children, his racing career slowed down and he transitioned into mentoring many of the young men just starting out in the career. He held an obsession for the Cornhuskers and loved hosting tailgate parties, always providing the queso and sausage dip. Troy cherished the time spent with his brother-in-law, Josh, working on cars, as well as all the go kart races spent with his nephews; Troy was a proud uncle. His Yorkie's and Doxen's were also thought to be much deserving of his time and attention. Though Troy could seem intimidating, he was quite the opposite once he shown his personality; he was an ornery teddy bear with a little bit of stubbornness.
Troy touched the lives of so many, leaving a ray of positivity on all who knew him. His jambalaya, ribs, and Christmas morning cinnamon rolls will be missed immensely.
Along with his wife, Jennifer Bayne, he is survived by daughters, Jessica (Dustin) Markley of Evans, CO, Alise Forbes, Brandi Bayne, and Allison (Dylan) Woody, all of North Platte; grandkids, JosLynn, Christopher, Drayden, Blake, Sylas, Ezariah, Reven, and ShaeLynn; his dad, Morey (Kris) Bayne of Hershey; brothers, Travis (Kirsten) Bayne of Windsor, CO, and Tracy (Ali Baker) Bayne of Hershey; parents-in-law, Rod and Crystal Dye of North Platte; several other family members and many friends.
Troy is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Bayne.
