Troy Douglas Horton, 54, of North Platte, passed away November 5, 2020.

He was born to Dallas and Shirley (Schaefer) Horton on October 11, 1966 in Calgary, Canada.

Troy graduated from Fort Collins High School. He then graduated from CSU with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 1991 and continued on to spend two years in Australia. He was a lifelong rancher at Split Rock Ranch in Wyoming.

Troy married Jennifer Benzel on January 1, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He became a father to Jenny's two sons, Cody and Taylor, before having a son together, Dustin.

Survivors include his wife, Jenny of North Platte; son, Dustin (Abby) Horton of Lincoln; step-sons, Cody Haney of North Platte, and Taylor (Bridget) Haney of Omaha; mother, Shirley; aunt, Rosanna Horton; brothers, Trent (Kristen) Horton and Travis (Kim) Horton.

He was preceded in death by his father.
