Verna May (Honeywell) Laleff, 84, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away August 14, 2025 in North Platte. She was born on May 21, 1941 to Vernon and Margaret Clara (Brolyer) Honeywell in Merna, Nebraska.
Their family lived near Merna, Nebraska where Vern and Carl joined their family. Verna attended grade school in Merna and Milburn, Nebraska and graduated from Lexington High School, Lexington, Nebraska. Verna's father passed away and several years later her mother was united in marriage to Leonard Barnes where they lived on a ranch north of Milburn, Nebraska. Loyd and Lynn were born into their family. Then Leonard purchased a farm south of Lexington, Nebraska and the family resided there. Verna worked various jobs throughout her life. She will be remembered as being very caring, kind and helpful. She loved her flowers, sewing, making crafts, and cooking. Her greatest pride and love were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Verna is survived by her family members; daughter, Tammy (Jesse) James; granddaughter, Tiffani Byrum; daughter, Dixie Montelongo and family; son, Thomas Laleff and family; brothers, Lynn (Chris) Barnes, Carol Honeywell; nephews, Ryan (Cherie) Meredith and family, Jamie Roufley and daughter, Richard (Annette) Honeywell and family, Merlin Honeywell; nieces, Vickey (Bill) Dowse and family, Stacy (Kyle) Jewell and family; sister-in-law, Terri Barnes and family; along with many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Vernon Honeywell; mother, Margaret Barnes; step-father, Leonard Barnes; husband, Charles D. Laleff; brothers, Vern Honeywell, Loyd Barnes.
Memorials are suggested to the family to help with the cost of Verna's medical bills.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, September 14, 2025 at the Robb Cemetery, south of Lexington, Nebraska. Family and friends are invited to meet at the Veteran's Memorial Park, E. 9th St, Cozad, Nebraska after the service to visit and share memories of Verna. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
