Violet M. Christner, age 94, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away January 20, 2025, at Linden Court Nursing Home.  Violet was born on February 21, 1930, in Spencer, Nebraska, to George H. and Nellie D. (Jensen) Anderson.

She grew up in Spencer where she graduated 8th grade and went on to work and save money. After saving for a while, Violet left Nebraska, traveling through and living in Oregon and Oklahoma before finally settling down in North Platte, Nebraska. During these years, she met and married her husband, Jim Davlin. With their children Ruby and Roy, they lived and grew happily.  On February 27, 1991, Violet married Richard Christner, who preceded Violet in death in 1992.  Throughout her life, Violet liked to experience as much as she could. As such, she worked many odd jobs and met many fascinating people. Despite her love of work, she always made time for her family and hobbies. She loved spending time with her children and later grandchildren and they have many a story of helping her in the garden, having clothes patched and fitted, and chatting with her as she crocheted.

Violet is preceded in death by her parents; her cherished first husband Jim Davlin; her children Ruby Lee Todd and Roy Mitchell; her siblings William C. Hudnall and Gloria May Larson; and various nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her niece Tylyn (Bob) Keel of Kokomo, IN; her great-niece Tiaffani (William) Robertson of Grover, NC; her great-great-nephew Jeremiah Carver of Grover, NC; granddaughter Carolyn of North Platte; grandsons Harold Fletcher, Ricky Fletcher, and Steve Fletcher of North Platte; and various other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date. Adams and Swanson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
