IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia Lee
Evans
April 20, 1931 – April 4, 2025
At 93 years of age, Virginia Lee Evans went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, April 4, 2025, after living a long and beautiful life. Virginia was born on April 20, 1931, to Charles and Vivian (Scott) Evans, in North Platte, NE, as one of two children.
Virginia graduated from Curtis High School in 1949 but North Platte is where she spent her life and the town she called "home". After completion of high school, Virginia married Eska "Gene" Evans in North Platte. The couple was blessed with 3 boys, Dennis, Roger, and Phillip. Virginia worked for Schweser's department store for a brief period before finding her place at Herberger's where she eventually retired from.
Virginia was a faithful and dedicated member of the Calvary Baptist Church and utilized her exceptional musical skills playing as the church pianist for over 30 years. She was always positive and could be described as "fantastic". Virginia was an incredible mother; she was the rock for her boys and sometimes, hearing her voice was all that was needed when seeking comfort.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Brenda) Evans, of Hockley, Texas, Roger (Joyce) Evans, of Lincoln, and Phillip (Debi) Evans, of North Augusta, S.C.; 10 grandchildren, Bryan (Dawnelle), Korinda, Tony, Michael, Stacy (Tim), Danielle (Jeff), Jenna (Ryan), Sarah (Cory), Bethany (Robert) and Travis (Amanda); 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; other family including nieces, nephews, and cousins,
Those that preceded Virginia in death are husband, E. Gene Evans; her parents, Charles and Vivian; brother, Stanley and his wife, Hilda.
Memorials are suggested to the Calvary Baptist Church, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or The Women's Resource Center in North Platte. Online condolences may be expressed at www.adamsswanson.com.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 1 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church, 900 East 2nd Street, with Rev. Mike Murray officiating. Virginia will be laid to rest with her husband at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, south of North Platte. Visitation will be on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 12 PM to 7 PM with family present to greet friends from 5 PM to 7 PM at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
