Wayne Allen Zona, 65, of Sutherland, Nebraska, passed away February 4, 2022 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.  He was born November 11, 1956 to Herman and Pauline Zona in North Platte.

Wayne graduated from North Platte High School.  He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a communication engineer.  Wayne was an entrepreneur, creating several technologies.  He was an active trap shooter and assisted in starting a trap shoot in Sutherland with his father Herman.   He enjoyed being outside and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his two children, Tyne Kreber, Sutherland, and Jeremy Zona, Keystone, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Gavin Sierks, Bailey Zona, Cash Keber, Brecken Zona and Brooklyn Zona; great-grandchild Dream Sierks; siblings, Deb Smith, Sutherland, Deanna Zona, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Charlie Zona, Little Rock, Arkansas; along with several other family members and friends.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Pauline Zona.

A memorial has been established in his name.

Memorial services will be held 6:00 P.M., Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Sutherland Baptist Church, Sutherland Nebraska, with Pastor Javan Hansen officiating.
