Obituary

William M. Hanson, age 60 of North Platte, passed away Sunday December 15, 2013 near Big Springs, NE as the result of an automobile accident.
Bill was born in Hood River, OR on August 8, 1953 to Lowell and Beverly Hanson. He grew up in Warrenton, OR and graduated in 1970. In high school Bill played football and wrestled, placing 2nd in State his junior year.
Bill joined the Navy and met his wife Paula in San Diego, CA. He did lots of traveling and got to see much of the world. Paula got to join him in Hong Kong and they saw the sights together.
After 21 years, he retired from the military and moved his wife and two children, Melissa and Martin, to North Platte, NE. He worked as a machinist at the Union Pacific Railroad for 19 years.
He was a loving and kind person who enjoyed motorcycles, collecting coins and hanging out with his friends. He was also an avid Oregon Ducks fan.
Bill is survived by his wife Paula; his two children Melissa and Martin; sister Barbara (John) Fincher; brother Terry Hanson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials are suggested to The American Red Cross and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Cremation was chosen and a graveside memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday December 20, 2013 at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell with Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Those wishing to do so may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday and until service time on Friday at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
